Perfect Friday finish to the week as our day started with a visit to the Hendrick Van Allen house, where General Washington set up headquarters one weekend in July, 1777. We discussed his journey from Morristown to Suffern along what is now route 202. Then it was lunch at the Mahwah Bar and Grill, where owner Craig Kunisch gave a very interesting, informative presentation about growing up and becoming successful in the restaurant business. For generations the Kunisch family has served the community, in every way. From insight into what it takes to operate, and dealing with challenges like Covid, to how they offer many great first job experiences for young people. All complemented by a delicious lunch. Our post lunch jaunt around Lake Henry for the PREP CUP capped the day nicely.
