Today, after a morning math assessment, language arts class, and a nice walk to lunch, we finished a strong week with a conversation with Dumont High School Principal Jim Wichmann. Jim’s story of relentless effort that helped him become a top tier recruit at St Joe's Montvale was made more compelling by the traumatic injury he suffered his senior year. Jim spoke of the mindset and determination it took to overcome obstacles and realize his dream of playing college football, and how that will has helped him become a respected, successful coach, and educational leader. He also shared his professional experience, and some eye opening advice about choices and consequences that student athletes may encounter as they navigate the next few years.
